Christmas cards
So, I guess we are offically into the Christmas card season. I personally love getting Christmas cards. I especially love the ones that have pictures (hm, imagine that) and letters about what's been going on. Ryan and I differ on the letter thing. So our compromise is doing a picture... which neither of us actually want to be in, but I bought the cards last year after Christmas- so we will go forward with the comprimise. Anway, back to my point. I love getting mail in general, but I love finding out what people have been up to (much like I love to read everyone's blogs). Even though for most people we recieve cards/ letters from we know what the story is... there is something about the humor, insight and love that is poured into a letter.
Lets face it there are people we care about but don't talk to all the time cause life just hasn't allowed for that for one reason or another. I love catching up with people who I have lost touch with. Just this past month I have had just that opportunity. My friend Stacey is a great example. A friend from Seminary that came across my blog through another mutual friends blog. We haven't talked since I left and she is now in NY and I am in GR and we have been able to reconect through our blogs... It's like a Christmas card whenever you want!
I think it's a hard thing in our age group & the day of technoligy when everyone can keep in touch in various other ways and well frankly... I don't have most people's address. Even those I love- rarely to I send snail mail. None the less, I love finding out what people have been up to. I love knowing that every person was an part of my life in some way & I want to know what's new.
So... what about you. Do you send Christmas cards? Do you put a picture or a letter in them? My family has always done this. Ryan's family never has cause from their experience they are usually brag letters (I never believed this til I actually read one and yep, it was). Who would you love to hear from the Christmas if you could chose anyone?
Don't forget to comment. I would love to hear what your traditions are for Christmas comunication. And well, I just wanna know who's reading my nonsense thoughts! :)
Have a great day!

Til then... here is a card I put together for my dear friends. BTW: animals and people together are hard to photograph!! :) Thanks Erin & Mark- it was great to see you!

Oh, I am terrible at sending Christmas cards. I forget to buy them until after Christmas, or I buy them but don't write anything on them, or I buy them and write on them but never mail them...How frustrating. So I like this "send a Christmas card whenever you want" through the blog idea!
I agree-- I usually buy them, fill them out and never get around to sending them! UGH!. Oh, well maybe this year will be different.
OMG let me tell you about BRAG letters... Ryan's aunt sends out a brag letter front and back page, margins as SMALL as they can get and font at about a 10pt. WOAH. It is rediculous.
As for us, we send out Christmas cards, I make them in Photoshop, they just have our pic on them and a "Merry Christmas". No letter or anything. I figure whoever cares to know what we're up to either reads my blog or keeps in touch. LOL
I only send a pic of Clayton!
I'm making my cards as we speak--15 down, a gazillion to go!
I'm so bad at Christmas cards. I for a while would buy them and then not send them...so I've given up. I think it's because I want for them to be personal and never take the time to write individual notes.
I can't wait to get to my Christmas cards- I'm trying to decide if a letter is right for me this year- can single people write Christmas letters? OR are they just for families and couples? I have to get school finished first though! Your picture of Erin and Mark :) is adorable.
