black and white

If you haven't noticed, I love shooting in black and white. The pictures around our house are black and white (for the most part). Maybe cause it's more uniform. But today I read a quote that put my feelings into words.

"If you shoot in color, you capture the color of their clothes. If you shoot in black & white, you capture the beauty of their souls"-

Pnemonia, pictures, and beautiful weather!!

This week has been crazy crazy!! Picture sessions are picking up. I have just booked another weading. :) I am pretty pumped. I am finishing up proofing another one and then working on some planning and an official website.

On the down side of the week we spent a few nights at the hospital with Ryan. He has been so sick all week... finally they decided when we were there on Saturday again they figured out he has pnemonia (sp). He is on antibiotics, so now he at least doesn't have a horrible fever, but still has no energy and feels horrible. The worst part is he has exams this week. UGH!! About the worst timing!

Anyway, I gotta shoot some emails out. Just wanted to let you all know I am alive. Just super super busy!

This little guy-- was so cute the whole concert. He went up to the dj after and asked if he could wear his headphones. Love this picture!

Swamped

I'm alive. So much is going on.
~Jonathan was here this weekend was a blast. We went to a KJ52 concert for free on Friday. It was fun.
~Saturday spent some time readying photg books at B&N.
~Hit up WMU on Staurday night with the GVSU, Hope, and WMU Students who were in our YG. It was great to catch up with them. I miss them... but yet I don't walk away missing the job, or thinking I should do it again (which makes me happy)
~Sunday Church, then fenagling with some home issues. UGH! I hate groundhogs/ badgers, whatever they are!
~Ryan is SUPER SICK. He had a 100+ temp yesterday and all day today, and that's after taking tylonal
~ SUPER Backed up on pictures. Looks like I have another wedding to do this summer, gotta talk to the families. Keep you posted.

A special day!!

Three years ago today I was in North Carolina visiting Ryan. Two years ago today I was Marrying my best friend (yep, Ryan). One year ago-- I was being supported and prayed for by Ryan as I went through the worst days of my life.

The picture above is from my trip to see Ryan. It was on that trip that we became "ETBE's". That's what my mom calls it-- we were engaged to be engaged. There was a lot that had to happend for things to all come together- but we had planned this would be the day (mostly cause of my schedule and it would be slower cause of Spring Break). Shortly after that trip, Ryan moved to Michigan and on September 2 we got engaged.

It's been an incredible two years. A challenging two years. And we are so excited that this year we can celebrate. I was far too sick to celebrate last year and things spiraled down from there. But every step of the way he was by my side. He was praying for me, believing in me, being scared and worried with me, pushing me to trust and have faith. His is the one that God knew I needed in my life. That first year was tough-- but not in the way that most people think of marriages being tough... it was tough cause life was thrown are way-- it was awesome cause we got through it together.

We aren't going anywhere-- - but we are going to Chicago for the day sometime this summer.
I can't wait!!

So- no matter if you are single, or married, or dating someone. . . take time today to tell someone that means the world to you "I love you and I am glad God put you in my life".
