life update
I am so glad it's Friday and even more glad that it's the Friday of a LONG weekend. My to do list is a mile long-- so much house work that has gone by the wayside since we have been so busy. Next weekend I'm at it again. One of my best friends from high school is having a baby- so I am going to celebrate with her and her family and friends. Then of course we have to squeeze a photo shoot in. Session number 3 for a sweet 6 month old girl- can't believe they grow so fast!
Social Front:
Looking forward to all those things-- I was also so excited and blessed to get to have coffee with one of my roomies from college last night and Ryan and I had dinner with our dear friend Maria from Denver. She was the maid of honor in our wedding and we miss her now that she in in Denver and we are in Grand Rapids. So good to see both of these dear friends- you both make my heart smile. Of course I took no pictures :(.
Job Front:
Still working at the bank-- didn't get the job I posted about the other day. Crossing my fingers on another job at work-- but at this time it looks like even though it's a job I am currently doing I am going to have to interview and everything else. This makes one very unhappy me! How does that work-- interviewing for something you already do and have been doing for 5+ months!!!??
Health front:
Ryan and I are taking the plunge. We are going whole foods. Well I am for sure. It seems lately even when I am not eating bread or yeast my face is a wreck-- itchy red, inflamed at times. Benedryl seems to be helping some. From what I am reading it's more like excema that is super (let me emphasize that) SUPER sensitive to anything slightly irritating-- including stress, seasonal allergies (which are quickly becoming champs over my body right now), certain foods- even ones I'm not allergic to irritate them. So I am breaking free from anything possible that might irritate it. SIGH-- and to me sadly that means most things good. But I can't keep doing this to my body- myself- my husband- or our future family. Part of the focus for the upcoming months is for me to get healthy-- that means in many ways. This being a key that will hopefully unlock many doors of health for me.
So here it is-- I think I am going to do a 90 day challenge! I NEED you guys to keep me accountable- if I haven't blogged about my challenge in the course of a week - ask me about it! 90 days. Whole foods. Minimal dairy. Nothing processed. Nothing with added sugar. Minimum of 30 min a day of exercise. Wake up with enough time to not be rushed. Go to bed at a decent hour-- what isn't done will still be there tomorrow. Plan my meals (this has to happen if I am actually going to follow through with this). The real challenge for me comes when I get busy-- or when I travel- plan ahead. Carry a cooler. I can do this. I will do this. Ryan is a great support and has been a great success himself-- losing quiet a bit of weight since the new year. We are both going to kick it into high gear!
I thought about starting another blog to tack this-- but that just adds to my to do list-- so I am counting on all of you to keep me accountable!
Wish me luck- I'm gonna need all the help I can get!
Have a great long weekend!
