FINALLY- it only took 2 1/2 years!

This post is for all you photography types out there, or couples, or just anyone who reads- HA! Finally after 2 1/2 years we are getting our wedding pictures! Can you believe it!? I can believe we are finally getting them- I just can't believe how long it took. Being in the biz myself now has made me look at this whole situation in a new light. It makes me think about the other side of wedding photography. It makes me think about response time for getting back with customers. It makes me think about how long it takes to get products and prints to people. It makes me think about a lot of things in the photography world. I am glad to finally get it tomorrow--- can't wait to see how our album turned out.

I will post some pics of it tomorrow-- along with a couple birthday gifts I got.

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

It's my birthday and it's been great so far. Ryan & I are off to Holland to walk the beach and see the sunset. AWE!! They threw me a party at work 15 people took me out to lunch! Ryan made me a romantic dinner and now we are off to Holland then home to play some games! A great day all in all!

I can honestly say it's been better than I imagined (as I was having trouble dealing with the number).

SUPER EXCITED!!!

I am soooo excited!! After lots of waiting and waiting and waiting-- my web site is finally going to launch!! Go off to my photoblog and click on the web site launch link and let me know what you think- it might not be up for a couple more hours - hopefully around 8pm. Ryan has been working on it for what feels like forever! We opted against buying a flash template- mostly cause Ry didn't want me to have what everyone else did. Mind you then making mine look like something that we both think is simple and classy (simple cause that's me- and cause it helps keep the focus on the images)-(and classy- I think I mean more professional- not cheap and cheesy and dated.)

So- this is where we stand. I have my name out there on some search engines--- it even comes up on google now when you search ckphotogrpahy! I also have it on a couple wedding search engines and have gotten quite a few "hits" as a result of those. Hoping to dive into seniors and weddings for next summer-- but also hoping for some family and children's sessions for the fall and winter months.

Hmmm-- other than that- life is just going along. Busy. Looking forward to some "vacation" in a couple days. But til then- it's a sea of files at work and lots to prepare and ship, and sell. We have a month left til 4th quarter when it gets even busier! YIKES!

Sooo- if you know anyone who needs pictures- send them my way. I am loving following this dream of mine and feel blessed that God has given me the talent and the opportunity to do so.

On my way to bed-- but I am dreaming of this for my birthday

Ok-- so it hit me today that my birthday is just around the corner-- I really would like to ignore the fact that I am going to be a year older. Life is a lot different for me at (almost) 31 than I would have ever guessed. But I am happy. I am with the one I love. I am chasing my dream (and riding the tailwind of it- and loving it). I seem to remember as a younger adult thinking how "together" my life would be at 30+. Yea, not so much! I often wish I was back in college. I often wish I didn't have to be responsible and maintain a house. I often wish I had someone to do everything for me. But then I am sure if that was the case I would fill my days with something more that would tie me down. It seems to be how we live our lives in America.

Anyway-- I am rambling-- but I wanted to say-- that if anyone would like to buy me a b-day present I have been eying this (click on the word) at Target! I know it's not much-- but it's not a "necessary" expense and for once in my life I have held off at buying something I really liked and still really like- in an effort to have something to tell someone to get me for my b-day! So I still, after about 2 months, think this is a nice tote/ bag. I would like to use it to carry my portfolio and information in when I go meet potential clients.

There you have it! I am off to bed- Hope I can sleep. I have had a hard time sleeping lately. I don't know why- work is crazy and I have lots on my mind-- which I am sure doesn't help.

ah- I don't have anything planned this weekend for the first time in about 8 weeks. Sooo- what happens??? I might have to work. We are in the middle of 6+ loan sales at once. We are inundated with files and boxes and paper (I have become a tree killer much to my dismay). Anyway- my boss is in Florida negotiating and I will get word when he comes back to find out what the future holds in store.

Not much else but staring at pictures on my computer screen! I'll post again soon!

Stats. life. my new home.

First of all-- I don't have any "exciting" news to share. (as referenced in my last post). I know that blows the theory some of you had that I was prego (nope). We haven't heard anything-- I promise I will update you when an official anncouncment is made! At this point it's still "rumored" to be happening.

I have been spending my beautiful summer days behind a beautiful cubicle at work (there is a window that overlooks a pond with a crane- so that's nice). Or at weddings- which I must admit is quite fun. Or in my car driving to a wedding event of some kind. Or in my basement editing pictures.

I had another wedding this weekend. I have an order to process for a couple as well as finishing up the wording on my webpage. Ryan is working hard at getting that together and is waiting on me. Look for it in the next couple of weeks. Right now- there is nothing there! (well just a bunch of mumbo jumbo)

Other than that life is good- work is swamped- (both bank & photography). Having trouble keeping up with all I dove into- however it's great cause it forces me to set goals and deadlines for myself and that is the structure I need. Ry has been great about helping me stay accountable to working out (cause it makes a big difference when I am stressed- but usually the first thing to go).

Anyway-- OH I was going to tell you about my new obsession with stats. I am not a numbers girl (ask me what question I hated most about my last job). I know that's funny since I work at a bank. Regardless it's true. However I found a new passion for numbers and info when I attached a stat counter to my photography blog. IT'S FABULOUS!! I love seeing how many people are coming to my site, where they are from, and how they get there (where they click on my link). It's fabulous! The last two weddings I have done I have given out lots of business cards and I am hoping to see a jump in "visitors". Potentially a jump in new clients! Let's face it-- numbers mean something different to me now. Something good! (I love replacing bad memories with great ones)
