New beginings
I was thinking of life when we sang a song at church a few weeks ago.
I thought about the life Gramps has lived and the new life of my dear friends new baby born just over a week ago. I believe that God is in BOTH of these situations-- He wants Gramps at peace. He reminds us of his promises with new life! So I am reminded that in these things-- God is among us
Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be'
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name
Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord

I am reminded of the same thing. I look at my kids and the joy they experience in the little things, and then think of my grandpa in his slow debilitating self (but still very full life) and see God. He passed away Tuesday, so it looks like we will be spending our Easter at a funeral too. I hope your weekend is full of healing with family, and the knowledge that Christ died for you and your Grandpa. We head for Georgia early Saturday morn. Blessings.
I love that song. I love the great reminder it is and I love to sing it with the prayer that I can have the strength and the faith to Bless His Name in both the good things and in the suffering. That I need to give it all back to Him; the beautiful and the ugly and let it glorify Him.
Thanks for sharing.
Still praying for you!
That is one of the songs that has gotten me through the past crazy year with all of its ups and downs. I hope you have a great weekend celebrating your Grandpa's legacy.
